10 Killed, 27 injured in 2 separate road accidents in Maharashtra’s Beed

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Ten people, among a doctor, were killed and 27 others injured in two separate road accidents in Maharastra’s Beed district on Thursday. In the first accident, four people were killed including a doctor after an ambulance collided with a truck on its way from Dhamangaon village to the city. In another incident six people were killed after a passenger bus with 40-45 passengers overturned near Gandhanwadi Phata on Ashti Jamkhed Road.

The speeding bus gets uncontrollable and as a result it met with the accident, the police said. The police later launched a rescue operation with the help of locals.

Five persons were killed in the accident. Four of them were residents of Beed district and one was from Yavatmal, Ashti police station in-charge Santosh Khetmalas told sources. Twenty six people were injured in the bus accident. They were taken to various hospitals for treatment, another official said.

According to officials, the deceased have been identified as Dhondiba Shinde, Deodatt Peche, Mohammad Asif Dost Mohammed Khan, Ashok Bhondve and Ravi Godambe, he said.

Apart from this, four people were killed and one injured when a speeding ambulance collided with a truck from behind at Ambhora on Dhamangaon-Ahmednagar Road in Beed on Wednesday night at around 9.30 pm, the official said. The ambulance was going towards Ahmednagar. Its driver and two others died on the spot, while a doctor present in the ambulance died during treatment at a private hospital in Ahmednagar, he said.

The deceased were identified as Dr Rajesh Jhinjurke (35), ambulance driver Bharat Lokhande (35), both from Ashti, Manoj Tirpude, and Pappu Tirkhunde, from Pathardi, the police said. The injured person was rushed to a hospital, they added.
