Mandya: The body of a 10-year-old girl was discovered in a water sump at a building that was being built in the Mandya region of Karnataka on Tuesday evening. Police officers have started an inquiry regarding the matter, is in progress, and the body has been sent for a post-mortem.
The tragedy took place in Mandya district’s Malavalli town. On Tuesday evening, the 10-year-old girl who died left her house to attend her tuition classes. However, sources claim that she did not attend her tuition class that day.
Later that evening, on October 11, her body was discovered inside a water sump of an under-construction building. After the recovery of the body, the girl’s parents lodged a complaint with the police, and later an FIR was also registered as a result of the complaint.
The girl used to go to attend tuition, which was conducted by a 45-year-old man named Kantha Raju. The police have apprehended him and quizzing him regarding the case.
Mandya Superintendent P Venugopal said the body has just been recovered; it will be too early to make any comments. We have initiated an investigation and are waiting for the post-mortem report.
Further investigation has been in process to know the reality of the case.
