12 Dead as car rams stationary truck on Bangalore-Hyderabad highway in Karnataka

Initial investigations revealed that the vehicle (Tata Sumo car) was heading to Bengaluru from Bagepalli and the driver of the vehicle failed to notice the parked truck by road side due to thick fog. One person was critically injured and is undergoing treatment in a nearby hospital.

Bengaluru: Tragic strikes after 12 people died, while one was critically injured when the SUV they were travelling rammed into a parked truck on the outskirts of Chikkaballapur, around 50 kilometer from Bengaluru on Thursday morning.

According to the details, the incident unfolded at 7.15 am, on Bangalore-Hyderabad National Highway 44.

Initial investigations revealed that the vehicle (Tata Sumo car) was heading to Bengaluru from Bagepalli and the driver of the vehicle failed to notice the parked truck by road side due to thick fog. One person was critically injured and is undergoing treatment in a nearby hospital.

Citing sources, reports claims that the 12 victims, who died on the spot, include four women.

Those involved in the accident were from the Penkonda district of Andhra Pradesh, the police said

Yesterday one more incident occurred in Karnataka in which three differently-abled children, including two brothers, were run over by a suburban train near Urapakkam on the city’s outskirts on Tuesday, October 24. The three, aged between 11 and 15, were from Karnataka. They were run over by the train while crossing the track.
