In this disastrous event, seven male and eight female peacocks lost their lives. After the incident, the Manaparai Forest Department was informed regarding the matter. Forest officials are taking all necessary steps to find out the reasons behind the mysterious deaths of peacocks.

The forest officials suspected that the consumption of poison may have been the reason for the peacocks’ deaths. The forest officials later conducted an investigation, and it was revealed that Pichai was the owner of the farm and responsible for keeping poisonous rice on the field.

Pichai kept the rice mixed with rat poison on the farm to prevent rats from destroying crops.

Afterwards, a veterinary doctor was rushed on the spot and did the autopsies on the 15 peacocks. After this, the birds were buried.
