2 Unattended bags found in Delhi’s Trilokpuri, police says ‘nothing suspicious’

New Delhi: Days after a 1.5 kg of explosives were found inside an unattended bag at Ghazipur flower market then again 2 unattended bags were found near Trilokpuri metro station in Delhi on Wednesday afternoon, triggering a bomb scare in the area, police said.

However, only a charger, a laptop and a water bottle were found inside the two bags upon scanning.

The Delhi Police had received a call regarding the two bags at around 1 pm, after which officials rushed to the spot along with a bomb disposal squad.

The area was cordoned off and an investigation was started, the police added.

Deputy Commissioner of Police East Priyanka Kashyap said, “Nothing suspicious has been found. It is a case of bag lifting from Trilokpuri. The person who’s bag was lifted and dropped has been informed.”

Police and a bomb disposal squad were rushed to the market after the suspicious bag was spotted. Special Cell officials were at the spot and the elite counterterrorism force National Security Guard (NSG) was also called in. Fire engines were also sent to the site, the Delhi Police said.

The NSG conducted a controlled explosion to neutralise the IED.
