Lucknow: A 29-year-old singer has filed a case against her male acquaintance in the Para police station area of Lucknow, alleging rape and blackmail. According to the FIR filed on Saturday, the singer accused the man of spiking her drinks and raping her under the guise of offering financial assistance.
The complainant stated that she had established a studio to advance her singing career, financing it by mortgaging her gold ornaments. However, she faced a shortage of funds when the studio’s interior decorator demanded additional money.
Upon seeking assistance, the woman was introduced to a moneylender named Brijesh Yadav from Aashiana. He allegedly offered her financial help and invited her to his office to finalize the agreement.
However, upon reaching his office, the woman claims she was given a soft drink laced with sedatives, causing her to lose consciousness. During this time, she alleges that the accused raped her and recorded the assault on a mobile phone. Subsequently, he purportedly blackmailed and sexually exploited her for over a month.
Station House Officer (SHO) of Para, Brijesh Kumar Verma, confirmed the registration of an FIR and stated that efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the accused.
