As per the National Center for Seismology, an earthquake of magnitude 3.8 struck Haryana's Jhajjar at 1:19 am on Sunday.
New Delhi: Earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi and its surrounding areas on the very first day of the new year. The National Center for Seismology measured the intensity of the earthquake. The center said that the intensity of the earthquake was 3.8. However, there was no loss of life or property due to these tremors.

According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), an earthquake occurred at 1:19 am on Sunday (01-01-2023) in the north-west of Jhajjar, Haryana, whose depth was 5 km below the ground. According to the reading received from the center, the intensity of the earthquake was 3.8 on the Richter scale. Due to this, the earth shook in many areas of Delhi-NCR.
Earlier on November 12, the intensity of the earthquake was 5.4 on the Richter scale, which came in Nepal at around 7:57 pm. The National Center for Seismology had said that the depth of the earthquake was 10 km below the ground.
