New Delhi: In yet another horrifying incident, a woman’s body found near a metro station in Delhi yesterday, the police said. Her body was found near Welcome Metro Station in the national capital.
According to police officials, the woman appears to be in her 30s and the killers have mutilated her face to destroy evidence.
As part of further investigations, the security cameras installed in the area are being checked and investigated for any clue that could lead the police to the suspects, officials said.
In a similar case that unfolded around a month ago, Police apprehend a man who was a colleague and a close friend of a 45-year-old south Delhi resident’s murder. The woman reportedly went missing, and later her body was found in Greater Noida.
The man arrested in the case, accused of murder, was identified as Mohammed Zakir. The 48-year-old allegedly took the woman to Knowledge Park in Greater Noida and attacked her with an iron dagger. After killing the woman, the man allegedly poured acid on her face and body to ensure that she was not identified. According to the police, Zakir committed the crime because he was under pressure to return the loan he borrowed from the woman.
Police said investigation into the matter is underway.
