New Delhi: According to the information given by the news reports, the Revenue department raided the house of a retired colonel in Meerut. The police recovered as many as Rs 1 crore cash, 35 pistols, animal’s skins and preserved meat of cow.
The latest raid comes days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to a meeting with the department to stock of anti-corruption drive after the demonetization step and tax collected thereafter including steps collected for GST rollout.
As per the reports: “The meeting has been convened on May 2 to review the work of revenue department with focus on steps taken against black money, official sources were quoted as saying by PTI earlier. As per the agency, among other things to be discussed in the meeting also include disclosures made in tax amnesty scheme announced after old notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 were banned in November last year.”
