The chilly air outside can actually suck out moisture from your hair, making them appear dry and brittle. With the drop in temperature, your hair may stop absorbing or retaining enough moisture which could make them lackluster and lead to hair loss.

If you are looking to buy some expensive hair care products to fix your hair problems, then this might not be the best way to stop hair fall in winters. But you need not worry, here are some effective ways to deal with hair fall during winters:-

There’s nothing like a good oil massage for your hair in winters. Since dryness is a major cause behind hair damage in winters, hot oil massages, especially with coconut oil can help. Coconut oil is often said to be the best oil to use on your hair to reduce protein loss and keep it looking healthy. Incorporate coconut oil in your winter hair care routine and see the difference yourself. The hair oil will seep into the hair follicles and make the hair strong and robust.

# Maintain a healthy diet with right Vitamins

Since your digestion is at its peak during the winter season, it doesn’t mean that you can binge on all junk and fried foods. It will affect your overall health including your hair and scalp. Try to consume warm, fresh and home-cooked meals. The right vitamins can do wonders to your hair, and make it really strong-strong enough to fight winter’s cold, arid air.

# Include ghee in your diet

Ghee is the best moisturiser for your gut and skin during dry weather. Putting ghee drops in nostrils at night is also effective in prevention from hair fall and grey hair to stress and insomnia.

# Don’t wash your hair with hot water

We’re no stranger to the relaxing effect a long, hot shower can have on your body and mind during winters. But it often does the reverse for your hair. Washing your hair with very hot water can strip the strand of whatever little moisture it has left. Too much heat can damage your hair. Instead, opt for lukewarm water while taking a head bath.

Also, try limiting the use of curling irons or blow dryers. The less you’ll deal with these heat styling tools, the better off your hair will be. If you style your hair too often, use a hair protection spray before experimenting.
