United States: A major incident took place at Indiana mall in United States. In the mall a gunman opened fire in the food court. According to the police, A total of 4 people were killed and 2 people injured in the incident. Jim Ison, Greenwood Police Chief said that the gunman was also dead and the injured have been hospitalized nearby.
He further said that the man barged into the Greenwood Park Mall with a rifle and several magazines of ammunition and opened fire at the food court. “We believe at this time, investigators are still questioning the individual involved, but it appears that a Good Samaritan who was armed observed the shooting in progress and shot the shooter,” Ison said. An armed civilian killed the man, Ison said at a news conference. In total, four people were killed and two were injured, he said.
According to the information, The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police and several other agencies are assisting with the investigation. Indianapolis Assistant Chief of Police Chris Bailey said “We are sickened by yet another type of incident like this in our country.”
“Please offer your prayers to the victims and our first responders,” he added. He further said that there is no active threat to the area and police have at least one suspect. Authorities are searching the mall for any other victims, but they believe the shooting was contained to the food court. Greenwood is a south suburb of Indianapolis with a population of about 60,000.
