42 Students from a school in Walsall, UK left stranded in US after Shredded Passports

Walsall, UK: 42 students from a school in Walsall, UK, have been stranded in the US due to an alleged hotel mistake. It is alleged on the hotel that because of that the passports of the students were torn. According to a BBC report, the Barr Beacon School students were on a ski trip to New Hampshire when they were informed that their passports had been destroyed by hotel management. These students were supposed to go back home on Saturday but had to stay here for four more days to get their emergency documents.

The mother of one of these children said that she was shocked by the strange incident, but the school assured her that they would get the children out of trouble. The mother told the BBC on condition of anonymity, “It was a really big shock. It’s the first time she’s been away from family for so long. And what they were doing was really challenging.”

The mother said that the teacher who led the trip spoke very well and supported the students during a difficult situation. “My daughter answered our emails and questions throughout the night when she should have been sleeping,” he said.

School head Katie Hibbs said she was proud of the staff on the trip for managing the challenging situation. He said, “While the student group was staying at a hotel in New Hampshire, 41 of their passports were destroyed.” After this, the British High Commissioner made new passports and the students were released from the hotel.
