At least five Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans were injured when an IED exploded during a clash with Naxals in Jharkhand.
Ranchi: At least five Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans were injured when an IED exploded during a clash with Naxals in Jharkhand. Currently, an evacuation effort is underway, and the injured are being rushed to hospitals for treatment.
The CRPF jawans sustained injuries when they came under the grip of an IED in Tumbahaka, which is under the control of the Tonto Police Station area.
The injured CRPF personnel are from the Cobra Battalion of the Chaibasa Police. The explosion occurred as jawans of the CRPF were conducting a search operation in the area. So, several security troops were injured during a clash with the Naxals. A search operation is underway on war footing to catch the extremists.
The injured jawans are being airlifted to Ranchi to be admitted to hospitals.
Up to 909 extremists, including leading Maoist commanders, have been taken into custody in the last two years in Jharkhand. Some of the districts in Jharkhand are hubs for Naxalites. Despite the killing of a huge number of Naxalites, they have not been eradicated yet.
Police and armed forces have confiscated a huge cache of arms, ammunition, and cash money.
