New Delhi: A painful accident came to light in a village located in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Five people died after a part of the well collapsed. The incident is of Piska village under Muri OP area of Silli, Ranchi. A bull had fallen into the well. People were trying to get the bull out by gathering that in the meantime the soil caved in and seven people got trapped in the well.

The incident is of Piska village under Muri OP area of Silli, Ranchi. A bull had fallen into the well. People were trying to get the bull out by gathering that in the meantime the soil caved in and seven people got trapped in the well.
According to the police, NDRF team was sent to the area, about 70 km from Ranchi, to carry out the rescue operation. Ranchi SP (Rural) HB Jama “The incident took place in the afternoon after an animal fell into the well. In an attempt to save it, nine people went inside the well, but only then a part caved in.
First there was news of death of one person in the accident, then the number went up to two. During this, efforts were being made to evacuate the people trapped in the well. Five people were trapped in the well. An official of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) said, efforts are on to rescue those trapped inside the well.
However, the rescue operation continued till late night and during this three other people died. Five people have lost their lives in the accident caused by the collapse of the soil of the well.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren has expressed grief over the death of five people due to drowning in a well in Piska village. Expressing grief over the incident, the Chief Minister prayed to the almighty to grant peace to the departed souls and give strength to the bereaved family members.

According to the information received from the police regarding the incident, the bull fell into a well in Piska village of Muri OP area on Thursday evening. In an attempt to get him out, four people got down, while four people were upstairs. Everyone was trying to get the bull out. Meanwhile, the surrounding soil suddenly caved in, due to which seven people got buried in the soil. Two people have been evacuated safely, while five people died.
Local leaders also reached the spot along with the police officers. It has been told that the place where all the people are buried due to soil subsidence is about 40 feet deep. That’s why there is a problem in relief and rescue work. A machine has been called from the administration to dig the well and remove the dead bodies.
