New Delhi: RBI has informed that till now 50 percent of 2000 notes have been returned to the banks. Reserve Bank Governor Shaktikanta Das said that till now 1.18 lakh crore notes have been returned. As per initial estimates, 85 per cent of the Rs 2,000 notes are coming into bank accounts in the form of deposits.

He also said that there is no idea of ​​taking back the 500 note, nor will the 1,000 note be brought back. People are requested not to speculate about this. The withdrawal of Rs 2000 note was announced on 19 May.
