Karnataka: On Wednesday, Bengaluru Police said that the arrest of a man who stands accused of sexually harassing a 32-year-old female passenger during a Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Bengaluru. The accused was 52-year-old. The accused has been identified as Sankaranarayanan Renganathan, according to an FIR filed at the Bengaluru International Airport Police Station.
According to authorities,The purported incident occurred on November 6, while the 32-year-old woman, originally from Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, was asleep. The accused allegedly tried to touch the private parts of the woman during the journey.
According to the FIR, the woman requested the flight attendant and changed her seat after the man continued to harass her during the journey. Upon the flight’s arrival in Bengaluru, the woman lodged a complaint against the man at the Kempegowda International Airport Police Station.
The 32-year-old woman, who is a resident of Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh registered a complaint at the police station after the flight landed in Bengaluru. Consequently, a case was registered under section 354 A (Sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code, as confirmed by a senior police officer.
