The Enforcement Directorate on Friday raided several cities and other places in Bihar. The ED claimed to have found concrete evidence of money laundering in the land-for-job scam. The three daughters of former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav and RJD leaders were raided. This whole matter is related to money laundering. ED officials raided Lalu Prasad’s daughter Ragini Yadav, Chanda Yadav and Hema Yadav. During this, the ED carried out searches at premises linked to former RJD MLAs Abu Dojana, Amit Katyal, Navdeep Sardana and Praveen Jain in Patna, Phulwari Sharif, Delhi-NCR, Ranchi and Mumbai.

The official said that the illegal earnings made in the scam can be gauged from the fact that four plots bought for Rs 7.5 lakh were sold to Meridian Construction for Rs 3.5 crore. Meridian Construction is the company of former RJD MLA Syed Abu Dojana. According to the ED official, evidence has been found of Rs 3.5 crore passing through Rabri Devi and Hema to reach Tejashwi and other family members.

Sources also said that searches were conducted at a house in South Delhi. Where Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son and Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav was present. This house is in New Friends Colony area of Delhi.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday raided a total of 24 locations in Delhi-NCR, Patna, Ranchi and Mumbai of Lalu Yadav, son Tejashwi and three daughters, including many other close ones, in the land-for-job scam in Railways, from where 53 lakh Cash, USD 1,900, 540 gm gold bars, 1.5 kg gold jewelery and important documents were recovered.

These bases belong to Ragini Yadav, Chanda Yadav, Hema Yadav, Navdeep Sardana, Praveen Jain, Syed Abu Dojana, AK Infosystems, Brahma City Pvt Ltd, Elite Landbase, Whiteland Corporation Pvt Ltd and Meridian Construction.

What did Lalu Yadav say on ED’s raid?

RJD chief and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Yadav wrote on Twitter, “We have seen the dark phase of Emergency as well. We fought that battle too. Today my daughters, little granddaughters and pregnant daughter-in-law have been arrested by the BJP ED in baseless vindictive cases.” Have been sitting for 15 hours. Will BJP stoop to such a low level and fight us politically?”

Lalu Yadav further wrote, “My ideological fight against Sangh and BJP has been and will remain. I have never bowed before them and no one from my family and party will bow down before your politics.”

What is land for job case?

The alleged scam dates back to the time when Lalu Prasad was the Railway Minister in the UPA-1 government. It is alleged that during 2004-2009 various persons were appointed in Group D in different zones of Indian Railways and in return they transferred their land to the family members of then Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and AK Infosystems Private Limited. Officials said that Ragini Yadav and Chanda Yadav were former directors in AK Infosystems Pvt Ltd, which allegedly got the plot from a candidate.
