# Have a balanced diet with right vitamins:

One of the best things to do to correct your lifestyle is to have a good balanced diet. Vitamins, minerals and a nutrient-rich diet can often cross out many problems and help you live healthy. Choose foods high in antioxidants, such as Vitamins A and C, as part of your healthy diets, such as leafy green vegetables and fish. Many foods, particularly fatty fish like salmon, contain essential omega-3 fatty acids that are important for the health of the macula, the part of the eye that is responsible for central vision.

# Use Protective Eyewear:

Considering that modern-day jobs often require us to spend long hours in front of a screen, we must also ensure that the time we spend does not aggressively impact our eye health. For one, it is important to wear protective eyewear when we work. Digital devices and screens emit a lot of blue light which is harmful to our eyes, and looking at the screens constantly can also strain them. Using glasses (even if they are zero power) can prevent eye health from further degradation. Even when you are working in extreme conditions, or playing sports, keep your eyes protected with quality eyewear.

As we step outside we use sunscreen as it is we have to use sunglasses always so the right pair of shades will help protect your eyes from the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays. Too much UV exposure boosts your chances of cataracts and macular degeneration.

When you go outside to take a break from work, there are a variety of eye exercises you can practice to get your eye muscles back into shape. One example to stand outside in a comfortable yet sturdy position and focus on keeping your breathing smooth and steady. Look as far right on the horizon as you can without moving your head. Then, slowly trace the horizon to the left, still without moving your neck or head. This is a great stretch for your eye muscles and it relieves the muscles that were contracting for so long to focus up-close. You can also try looking as far down as you can, and then look up towards the sky.

# Visit Your Eye Doctor Regularly:

Going for regular eye examinations can help in protecting your vision and ensure you see clearly. Eye examinations are important to help you find eye problems like glaucoma (a condition wherein the optic nerve is damaged, resulting in vision loss). A comprehensive eye examination can help in identifying problems like nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism (an eye defect that occurs to a deviated spherical curvature).
