80 Tihar Jail officials in Delhi transferred after 2 gangsters killed in gang war

Tihar Jail Administration is in action after the gangster Tillu Tajpuria murder case. On Friday, the jail administration transferred 80 police officers. These include 5 Deputy Superintendents, 9 Assistant Superintendents, 8 Head Wardens and 50 Wardens.

New Delhi: Tihar Jail Administration is in action after the gangster Tillu Tajpuria murder case. On Friday, the jail administration transferred 80 police officers. These include 5 Deputy Superintendents, 9 Assistant Superintendents, 8 Head Wardens and 50 Wardens.

The Delhi High Court on Thursday (May 26) made a scathing comment on the murder of gangster Tillu Tajpuria inside the jail premises. The High Court said that such incidents are unacceptable. The authorities should not wait for such incidents.

Jail administration is serious in Tillu murder case
Tihar Jail administration is looking very serious after the Tillu murder case. The news of transfer of officers and policemen was already coming to the fore. On May 11 also, Tihar DG Sanjay Beniwal had transferred 99 jail officials.

Earlier, on May 5, Tihar had suspended 8 employees, including 2 assistant superintendents and 4 warders as well as 2 head warders, after CCTV footage came to the fore on the negligence of Tamil Nadu police personnel.

The murder took place on 2 May
Gangster Tillu was killed by Gogi gang operatives on May 2, 2023 by stabbing him with a needle in the high security cell of Tihar. Two videos of this incident had come to the fore, in which it can be seen that the killers had stabbed Tillu with a sharp needle even in front of the policemen. The jail authorities did not take any step to stop the murders.

Murder accused in custody till May 29
On May 15, the Patiala House Court sent all the accused in the Tillu Tajpuria murder case to 14-day custody. Along with this, the court directed the jail administration to ensure the safety of all the six accused. The accused in the case will be produced through video conference on May 29.
