Kochi: Air India employees’ unexpected strike has left passengers stranded. More than 70 flights were cancelled by Air India Express from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning. Following this, an alternative system was introduced at Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi airports. The airport authority said that it has been done for those who need to reschedule their journey. The trip was rescheduled to 10th, 11th and 12th. The airport authority said that it has been given to those who want refund.
Flights at Thiruvananthapuram, Nedumbassery, Kannur and Kozhikode airports were canceled after the Air India staff unexpectedly announced a strike. Many passengers were stranded at the airport after the flight was canceled without warning. Passengers protested demanding a replacement system. Six flights from Karipur have also been cancelled. Flights to Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai, Jeddah, Doha, Bahrain and Kuwait have been cancelled.

Air India employees went on nationwide strike demanding increase in allowance. Employees were taking leave en masse. Due to this, more than 70 flight services were suspended in many places in the country.
