In reply to 800 artistes who issued a joint statement against Bharatiya Janata Party, other 907 artiste issued and signed a statement in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP’s re-election. They statement included their belief in the present government and their wish for the continuation of this government.
“We, creative artistes and persons belonging to the field of literature appeal to all our fellow citizens to caste their vote and exercise their right to elect the new government without any pressure and prejudice,” the statement, issued by the Nation First Collective said.
“We believe that during the last five years, India has seen a government that has delivered corruption-free good governance and development oriented administration. During this period, globally India has acquired greater respect. It is our firm conviction that the continuance of government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the need of the hour.
“Besides, when challenges like terrorism are before all of us, we need a majboot sarkar and not a mazboor sarkar and hence we need the present government to continue,” it read.
Among the ones to sign the statement are Shankar Mahadevan, Vivek Oberoi, Anuradha Paudwal, Koena Mitra, Payal Rohatgi, Rahul Roy and Alok Nath.
