Rape cases against Ukrainian girls, including teenagers, are increasing with the passing of time by the Russian soldiers. Rape at gunpoint has been committed by them on a regular basis.
As per the report, a Russian soldier said, “Either you sleep with me now, or I will bring 20 more men.” These were the words of a drunken Russian soldier before he allegedly raped a 16-year-old pregnant teen in the village of Kherson, under Russian control
The teenager was six months pregnant at the time of the rape. She said the drunken soldier strangled her and threatened to kill her if she resisted.
The survivor and her family were taking shelter in the basement of their house to avoid the carpet bombing by Russia. A drunken Russian soldier spotted her when senior family members took the children out of the shelter at dusk to eat.
The survivor said, “He asked how old the children were. There were two girls aged 12 and 14 years, and I was 16. He first called for my mother, but let her off quickly, and then called for me. When I went, he started shouting at me and asked me to undress. When I said no, he said he would bring 20 more men if I did not sleep with him then.
She said he tried to strangle her and threatened to kill her if he resisted the rape. Another Russian soldier who was not drunk asked the attacker to stop, but in vain.
The survivor said, “I remember he had blue eyes, but it was dark and I don’t remember anything more.”
She said she heard other Russians calling him “blue” and said he had a criminal past, and there were talks that he was going around the village looking for a “girl of easy virtue”.
She lamented, “If only we had not gotten out eating, he would not have seen us and he would not have touched me.”
But her misery did not stop at the rape. The next day, she was taken to another soldier, who started shouting at her and threatened to rape her.
Ukrainian prosecutors said that they investigated the allegations and confirmed the attack, calling it a war crime.
In a statement, the prosecutors said, “Thanks to the testimony of the victim and the results of a number of investigative actions, it was established that in early March 2022, during the occupation of a village where there was no military facility of Ukrainian servicemen, war crimes against civilians were committed, including the rape of a minor resident of the village.”
