A full emergency declared at the Delhi airport after a bird hit a Dubai-bound flight

New Delhi: On Saturday, Emergency has been declared at Delhi airport. The airport authorities have given this information. Officials said the Dubai-bound FedEx plane struck the bird shortly after take-off. In view of this, full emergency has been declared at Delhi Airport.

Along with this, the airport authority has called ambulance, fire brigade and other emergency vehicles on the spot. The Airport Authority said that this sudden decision has been taken due to the collision of a FedEx aircraft with a bird. The flight landed safely and took off again at 1.44pm. The Dubai-bound aircraft is operated by FedEx. The scheduled arrival of the flight at Dubai is at 3.29pm.

Sources said bird hits are not uncommon, but they present major technical challenges. Such collisions can prove fatally dangerous. On Thursday, nearly 22 flights were diverted from Delhi Airport due to weather conditions. It is worth noting that in February, an IndiGo flight from Surat to Delhi had to divert to Ahmedabad after it collided with a bird during take-off. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) confirmed the incident and said that the plane had landed safely in Ahmedabad.
