A major accident in Delhi: 5 killed and several injured after godown wall collapses in Alipur

New Delhi: A major accident took place in Alipur of the capital on Friday. Here the wall of a warehouse suddenly collapsed. 5 people died and 9 others were injured after being buried under the wall. All the injured have been admitted to Raja Harishchandra Hospital. Where the condition of two is said to be critical. At the same time, on the information of the accident, top officials of police and administration reached the spot and started relief and rescue work. At present, work is being done to clear the debris and it is feared that some more people may be trapped under the debris.

According to the information, the wall that fell was more than 25 feet high. Its debris is only about 4 feet high. At present, 15 laborers have been rescued from this debris. At the same time, the search operation is still going on and it is feared that some more people may be buried inside it. NDAF team is on the spot and doing rescue work. Along with this, police and administrative staff are also present. At the same time, the owner of the warehouse has absconded after the accident. Police is now looking for him.

CM expressed condolences

On the other hand, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed grief by tweeting after the accident and said that a tragic accident has happened in Alipur. The district administration is engaged in relief and rescue work. I myself am also monitoring the relief work. Along with this, he wrote that I pray to God for the peace of the departed souls.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his condolences for those who lost their lives. “Anguished by the mishap in Alipur, Delhi. My thoughts are with those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that those who are injured recover at the earliest,” read a tweet by the PMO.

Complaint about blocking warehouses

At the same time, it is to be told that the local people have complained many times to remove the godowns from the area. In this regard, a written complaint was also given to the DM and SDM office, but even after this, the illegal godowns have not been removed from there.
