New Delhi: Without citing name of any political party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched attack on Saturday stating that there were talks of a political party experiencing fever soon after India crossed 2.5 crore Covid-19 vaccinations on Friday. The Prime Minister was interacting with healthcare workers and vaccine beneficiaries of Goa via video conferencing.
During his virtual interaction, PM Modi hailed the leadership of Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant and congratulated the healthcare workers for achieving 100 per cent vaccination of the adult population in the state. “Goa is a state which beautifully captures the diversity of our country. It is a state that strengthens the spirit of #EkBharatShreshthaBharat. Goa’s achievement of administering 100 per cent of the first dose of vaccination is a moment of pride for all of us,” said PM Modi.
Goa is on way to becoming a leading state in India as far as vaccination is concerned, Modi said. “Goa is playing an important role in the success of the world’s largest and fastest vaccination drive. Goa’s vaccine wastage prevention model will help other parts of country,” he added.
The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts of doctors, medical staff and people in administration in the country for helping India administer over 2.5 crore jabs in a single day. “We saw how the nation kept looking at the CoWIN dashboard yesterday. More than 15 lakh vaccinations every hour, over 26,000 vaccinations every minute took place yesterday, and more than 425 people were administered vaccines every second yesterday. With your efforts, India made a record of vaccinating 2.5 crore people in a single day. Even countries that are considered prosperous and powerful could not do it,” said Modi.
India administered a staggering 2.5 crore Covid vaccinations on Friday, setting a record for single-day inoculations as part of a special drive to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 71st birthday. He said it was an unforgettable and emotional moment for him as over 2.50 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses were administered in the country on his birthday. “Birthdays come and go but I have been away from such things. But yesterday was emotional for me. It has become an unforgettable occasion for me,” Modi said.
“Yesterday over 2.5 crore people have not only been vaccinated against Covid-19 but have acquired a safety net towards the pandemic,” said PM Modi.
Praising the healthcare workers and Corona warriors for their compassion and cooperation, the PM said, “People hailing from the medical field, who have been engaged for the last two years, are helping the citizens fight coronavirus without worrying for their own lives. The way they have set a record of vaccination yesterday is a big deal for the country”.
