New Delhi: On Sunday morning, one people dead and 6 injured after building collapses in in northeast Delhi’s Mustafabad area, police said. Delhi Fire Services (DFS) Director Atul Garg said three fire tenders went to the spot and four people were rescued. He also said, “First and second floors of the three-storey building collapsed.”
According to a police officer, the incident was reported at around 5 am. One people, who was dead in this incident was 20 year old. “Other officers of the nearby police stations and traffic police officials also helped in the rescue operation,” deputy commissioner of police (northeast) Sanjay Kumar Sain said adding that fire tenders, ambulance, and JCB were also called at the spot.
The family members were identified as Suleman (45), who has the business of scrap, his wife Sabnam (40), his daughter Laiba (22) and three sons Sufhiyan (20), Faizan (17) and Arshiyal (15). Sufhiyan was pulled out with great difficulty and rushed to a hospital where he was declared as brought dead, a senior police officer said.
According to the report, “The family was living in the now collapsed portion of the building as tenants for the last four years.” The building was constructed about 17-18 years back and is owned by one Shamim Ahmad, police said.
