New Delhi: A shocking incident happened in Karnataka, seven aborted fetal remains uses were found in a canister on the outskirts of the Moodalagi village of Belagavi district on Friday, informed the police. After which, the state health department has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
According to the information, The local residents found the fetuses near the Mudalagi town`s bus stop in the Belagavi district and informed the police. After receiving the information, police visited and inspected the site. Few of the fetuses were about five months old and some seven months old. They would be sent to Forensic Lab for tests.
District Health Officer Dr Mahesh Koni told media, “Seven fetuses were found in a canister. Five-month-old embryos were found to have fetal sex detection and murder. A team of officials will be formed and investigated immediately after informing the district authorities.” He further said, “The detected embryos were stored in a hospital and then brought to the District Functional Science Center for testing.”
A police case has been registered in this regard. Further investigation is underway.MLA Balachandra Jarkiholi in a statement said the incident is a shame to civil society. We have asked the police to investigate the case and book those involved in it. The Health Department should also ensure that such incidents aren’t repeated.
