A tragic incident in J-K! Grenade explodes near Line of Control in Poonch, Army Captain and JCO dead

Jammu-Kashmir: A sad incident happened in Jammu-Kashmir’s Poonch district. An Army Captain and a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) were dead when a hand grenade accidentally exploded along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. On Monday, Officials gave this information. The security forces were doing their duty on the Line of Control when the incident took place. Defense PRO of Jammu said several jawans have been injured due to the grenade blast.

According to an army public relations officer, this incident happened on Sunday night, when the army personnel were posted in Mendhar area of ​​Poonch district. He futher said that the Army Captain and Naib-Subedar (JCO) were immediately taken by helicopter to Udhampur for treatment, but they succumbed during treatment there.

PRO Defence Jammu said, “Last night, an accidental grenade blast occurred in Mendhar Sector, Dist Poonch when troops were performing their duties along the Line of Control. The blast resulted in injuries to soldiers. During the treatment, one officer and one JCO succumbed to their injuries.”

Significantly, terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir have become fearless and are not deterring from carrying out their conspiracies. Terrorists are trying to target Indian security forces every day. Earlier, on Sunday also, an incident of terrorist attack was reported from Pulwama district, in which an officer of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was martyred.

A police spokesman had said that at around 2:15 pm, terrorists opened fire on a joint post of police and CRPF in Gangu Chauraha area of ​​Pulwama. He said that Vinod Kumar, Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of CRPF was seriously injured in this terrorist incident and was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
