NEW DELHI : Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Mega National Tribal Festival “Aadi Mahotsav” at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi. He also paid floral tributes to tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda. Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda was also present with him during the programme.
One thousand tribal artisans will participate
‘Aadi Mahotsav’ is an annual initiative of the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited (TRIFED) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. This year it is being organized from 16 to 27 February at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi. The program will showcase the rich and diverse heritage of tribal communities across the country through 200 stalls. Around one thousand tribal artisans will participate in the festival. This festival has been organized to make the products of tribals available in the market, to give recognition to their art and culture.
PM Modi said- ‘Adi Mahotsav is making a grand presentation of the country’s primitive heritage in the Amrit Mahotsav of independence. Today, when India goes on big forums of the whole world, it is presenting the tribal tradition as its pride.
PM Modi said that this time an announcement has also been made in the budget to start the PM-Vishwakarma scheme for traditional artisans. Under PM-Vishwakarma, you will be given financial assistance, skill training will be given. Marketing your product will be supported.
Let us tell you that in this 11-day fair, tribal chefs from 13 states will add flavors here. Ragi Halwa, Kodo Kheer, Mandiya Soup, Ragi Bada, Millet Roti, Bajra Churma, Madua Roti will also be tasted at various stalls.
