New Delhi: Bollywood’s one of the biggest stars, Aamir Khan tested corona positive. Actor’s spokesperson informed about his health through a statement on Wednesday that Aamir is currently in home isolation and following all Covid-19 protocols after testing positive for the virus.
The statement spokesperson said, “Mr Aamir Khan has tested positive for COVID-19. He is at home in self quarantine, following all the protocols and he’s doing fine.” The statement on Aamir’s behalf also urged those who were in the actor’s vicinity in the recent past to get themselves tested: “All those who came in contact with him in the recent past should get themselves tested as a precautionary measure. Thank you for all your wishes and concern.”
Earlier this month, Aamir Khan was pictured at the screening of his friend Amin Hajee’s directorial debute ‘Koi Jaane Na’ in Mumbai. The 56-year old has a dance number in the movie. After the screening, he had also talked about his reasons for quiting social media, in a media interaction, “Do not put your theories about that. Main apni dhunki mein rehta hoon (I live in my own world). I am anyway not active on social media, I don’t post anything,” he was quoted saying by a reporter.
In the last few days, many big actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Karthik Aryan, Manoj Bajpayee have contracted the viral infection that has been haunting the world since last year.
The industry stood back on its foot right after the corona vaccine arrived and started shooting following proper government protocols. However, in the recent past, cases of Covid-19 have steadily increased in the country, mainly in Maharashtra, which is considered to be the main reason behind the spike of cases in film industry.
A day before, actor Karthik Aryan had also shared the news of himself being corona positive on social media. While, actor Ranbir Kapoor is also under self-quarantine these days after contracting the virus few days back.
On work front, Aamir Khan will next be seen in ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, in which will be seen opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan. Helmed by Advait Chandan, the film is a Hindi adaptation of Tom Hanks’ award winning movie ‘Forrest Gump’. The movie is scheduled for a Christmas release.
