New Delhi: On the uproar during the Standing Committee elections, the BJP held a press conference today and made many serious allegations against the Aam Aadmi Party. During the press conference, BJP said that AAP’s councilor Devendra slapped BJP’s councilor Pramod. You were losing the standing committee election, so mobile was allowed. This violation of confidential voting was done. When we protested, voting was done forcefully. The mayor was involved in wrongly conducting elections throughout the night.

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said that the picture which the people of Delhi are seeing is unimaginable. I myself was involved in voting, it was peaceful. This coincidence did not happen with a well thought out strategy. Ever since the people of your party came to the Rajya Sabha, you can see how they go naked. You see in Punjab. Today we saw the same picture in the standing committee elections.

The people of AAP party had made a rule that mobiles and pens should not be taken at the time of voting. BJP also accepted this thing. Voting for mayor election was done without mobile and pen. We accepted this proposal so that confidentiality is not violated. But when the standing committee elections were held, the mayor gave permission for the mobile. We opposed it but got voting done despite that. We protested by going to the bail which is allowed in a democracy. But BJP corporator Pramod was killed by AAP corporator.

Manoj Tiwari further said that Manish Sisodia had expressed his intention of hooliganism through a tweet. We had 113 votes but we got 116 votes in the mayor’s election. AAP does not have the numbers in the standing committee elections. That’s why AAP party is doing violence.

BJP leader and MP Pravesh Verma said during the press conference that three elections were to be held tomorrow, mayor, deputy mayor and six members of the standing committee are elected. Only the people of Mayor and Deputy Mayor vote for MPs. When we reached there yesterday, we were told that mobile and pen cannot be taken. I kept the mobile and pen outside. AAP party councilor Mukesh Goyal had said that pen and mobile should not be allowed.

Pravesh Verma further said that but as soon as you became the mayor of the party, they had to conduct the standing committee elections. When Mayor Shelly Oberoi conducted the election of Deputy Mayor, four votes were less in the election of Deputy Mayor. Due to this the AAP party got nervous as soon as the standing committee elections were to be held, immediately Shelly Oberoi allowed mobile and pen. Immediately gave ballots to forty people and took photographs while casting votes and immediately sent them on the mobiles of Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh.

Is this not a violation of secret of vote? Not only this, after 40 ballots, 20 more ballot papers were immediately given to the councilor of AAP party. Still ten ballot papers are with the councilor of your party. Not only this, the ballot box was delivered to the Mayor’s office at night, without calling the BJP leader, the box was sealed. Elections are held under the supervision of the secretary of the corporation, the secretary has now written a letter saying that the election did not go well. Where is the ballot paper that is out there? I demand that this election be held again.
