New Delhi: AAP MP Sanjay Singh, Cabinet Minister Gopal Rai and other party leaders who were protesting outside the CBI office have been taken into custody. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia appeared before the CBI today in the Delhi Liquor Policy case. During this time, a huge crowd of Aam Aadmi Party supporters has gathered after the CBI office, due to which Section-144 has been implemented. AAP fears that CBI may arrest Manish Sisodia.

At the same time, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, ‘When Sisodia comes out of jail, the whole party will welcome him.’ Come out, we, parents, children and Delhiites are eagerly waiting for you. Arvind Kejriwal has tweeted many times.

Before going to the CBI office, Manish Sisodia reached Rajghat and meditated for a while. AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh was also present with him. CBI is interrogating Manish Sisodia in the alleged scam related to liquor policy (Delhi Liquor Policy Scam). Sisodia appeared at the CBI office around 11 am. Tight security was arranged outside Manish Sisodia’s residence in the morning.
Manish Sisodia tweeted that ‘Today again I am going to the CBI office. I will fully cooperate with the entire investigation. The love of lakhs of children and the blessings of crores of countrymen are with you. I don’t care if I have to stay in jail for a few months. He is a follower of Bhagat Singh. Bhagat Singh went to the gallows for the country. Going to jail because of such false allegations is a small thing.

On the other hand, BJP leader Sambit Patra said that converting corruption into event management will not help them to hide corruption. You have not given any answer on the liquor policy scam, so one thing is clear that they are trying to hide the truth. He should answer to CBI, there is no need for event management.

Earlier, on February 19, Manish Sisodia was to appear. But he had asked to extend the date of hearing citing the preparation of Delhi’s budget, accepting which the CBI had given the date of February 26. Manish Sisodia had said that he will fully cooperate with the CBI in this investigation. According to media reports, CM Arvind Kejriwal has expressed apprehension that Manish Sisodia may be arrested today in the CBI inquiry case.

Let it be known that the CBI had filed its first charge sheet against seven people on November 25 last year. Sisodia was not named as an accused in it. CBI officials say that the CBI has collected extensive material in the investigation of money transactions and links between liquor traders and AAP leaders, middlemen. CBI needs an explanation from Sisodia on this.

Sisodia and others were accused of corruption in bringing a new liquor sale policy in the national capital. Lt Governor VK Saxena had ordered a CBI probe last year. Subsequently, the Delhi government reverted to the old liquor policy and blamed the Lt. Governor for the revenue loss of crores of rupees, which the AAP government claimed would have resulted if the new policy continued.

The BJP said the Delhi government went back to the old liquor sale policy to cover up corruption in the excise department by Sisodia. The CBI has named seven accused in the chargesheet in the liquor policy case, which does not mention Sisodia. The AAP alleged that the BJP at the Center was behind the Lt Governor’s decision to send the CBI after Sisodia.
