AAP Organizes Nationwide Collective Fast in Protest of Kejriwal’s Arrest

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has initiated a daylong collective fast today (April 7) to voice their dissent against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case linked to the excise policy. AAP leaders and workers are convening at Jantar Mantar in Delhi and Khatkar Kalan in Punjab, the ancestral village of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, to undertake the mass fast.

Nationwide Protest Gains Momentum

Senior AAP leader Gopal Rai announced the protest, stating that from 10 am onwards, AAP MLAs, MPs, office bearers, along with party members and supporters, would partake in the mass fast. Rai emphasized the significance of garnering widespread public support for Kejriwal’s fight against injustice.

The nationwide collective fast aims to rally individuals opposed to Kejriwal’s arrest, advocating for the preservation of democracy and the cessation of authoritarian practices. Rai urged citizens to observe collective fasts in various locations, from their homes to state capitals, to demonstrate solidarity with Kejriwal’s cause.

Unity in Prayer and Song

Furthermore, Rai encouraged individuals to collectively pray or listen to the devotional song “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram” on YouTube, symbolizing unity in the pursuit of justice. He urged participants to send pictures of their observance to the website kejriwalkoaashirvaad.com.
