Brijesh Goyal, the Trade Wing chief, said brief meetings will be held and the focus will be on communication with the traders. There will be two to five meetings in each market of the capital, which will be held in markets of Delhi such as Khari Baoli, Naya Bazar, Bhagirath Palace, Sadar Bazar, Chawri Bazar, Kashmere Gate, Karol Bagh, Kamla Nagar, Rajouri Garden, Lajpat Nagar, Connaught Place, Nehru Place, Rohini, Shahdara, and Pitampura, and discuss the issues the traders face.

Goyal further added that AAP has shown lots of sympathy towards traders, so over 30 traders are contesting municipal elections. “We want to keep the Inspector Raj aside; our aim is to make markets beautiful and clean, eliminate parking problems, improve the dilapidated roads and streets under the MCD (Municipal Corporation of Delhi), and abolish the conversion fee and parking fee, which will provide a better working environment to the traders.”

AAP has issued 10 guarantees ahead of the MCD election to entice the traders. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has promised an environment that will help trade and businesses, besides making licencing easier.

The AAP has been in power in Delhi since 2015, and it is looking to unseat the BJP in the upcoming MCD polls. The MCD has been under the control of the BJP for the last 15 years. AAP fought the MCD polls for the first time in 2017 and emerged as the second-largest party. The MCD is in charge of civic governance, MCD schools, and many other things.
