Shraddha Walkar Murder Case: Aftab Poonawalla allegedly strangulated Shraddha Walkar to death at a house in South Delhi's Mehrauli and kept her body in a 300-litre fridge for about three weeks after cutting it into 35 pieces, and Then those pieces were thrown in different parts of the city for several days.
New Delhi: Aftab Amin Poonawala, accused in Shraddha Walkar murder case, will be produced in Saket court today on Friday. During this, Tihar Jail has asked the 3rd Battalion of Delhi Police to provide special security for Aftab in view of attack that happens 10 days ago. Poonawalla (28) is accused of killing his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar (27) and cutting her body into 35 pieces. Poonawalla has been kept under strict watch in Central Jail No. 4 as there is a threat to his life.
The police arrested Poonawalla on 12 November, after which he was sent to police custody for five days. The police custody was extended for five days on 17 November. On 22 November, the court again sent Poonawalla to police custody for four days and then on 26 November sent him to jail for 13 days judicial custody.
Aftab Poonawalla was arrested by the Delhi Police on November 12 for allegedly killing Shraddha Walkar in her rented flat in South Delhi’s Mehrauli area. Delhi Police had said that Aftab strangled Shraddha to death and cut her body into about 35 pieces, which he kept in a 300-litre fridge at home for about three weeks. He kept going for several days at midnight to throw them in different areas of the city. Police said that there used to be a fight between the two on the day regarding financial issues.
It is suspected that Poonawala strangulated 27-year-old Shraddha Walkar to death on the evening of 18 May after a quarrel between the two. Shraddha was a resident of Vasai in Palghar district of Maharashtra. Both of them met in Mumbai through the dating app ‘Bumble’. After this they started working together in a call center in Mumbai and the love affair between the two started from there. Later he came to Delhi.
