The 56-year-old has been arrested by police for making threatening calls to Reliance Group head Mukesh Ambani.
Mumbai: The 56-year-old has been arrested by police for making threatening calls to Reliance Group head Mukesh Ambani. He was produced before the 37th Magistrate court in Mumbai on Tuesday (August 16), and after that, sent to police custody till August 30.
The guilty party was identified as Vishnu Bhowmik. Later, he was brought from Dahisar to DB Marg police station in South Mumbai on August 15.
The prosecution has sought 10 days’ custody of the accused by saying, “This call was made on Independence Day, so there is a motive and intention behind it.” Why did he not do it on any other day? There is a threat to Mukesh Ambani, and why did he specifically call him only? So, this case is not a simple case and it is a very serious offence. “
The prosecution also noted that the accused is a repeat offender and urged the court to take this into account.
“Further investigation is required to find out all the culprits involved in this case.” According to the prosecution, it is necessary to conduct a thorough technical inquiry.
The accused made the call to the hospital and not to the person directly. Calling the accused “mentally ill,” the lawyer for the accused said, “He is mentally unwell and I have a certificate to show that he is under the treatment of a psychiatrist.”
