Mumbai: Actor Paresh Rawal praised Amitabh Bachchan in his latest interview, saying that there is a lot to learn from Amitabh beyond his unbelievable fame. Speaking about Big B, Paresh Rawal revealed how calmly he handled the situation when he was in debt of over Rs 90 crore.
In 1999, Amitabh Bachchan was on the brink of bankruptcy following the failure of his production company, Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Ltd. (ABCL), which resulted in a debt of over 90 crore. Later, Amitabh bounced back strongly after hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati. The success of Mohabbatein, too, turned the tables on his life, and he eventually paid off his major debt.
“I recall questioning him once about it. I questioned him about disclosing this to his family in such a dire situation. Then he asked, “Why?” Let them go and live their lives. He owed people a lot of money, but he never disparaged anyone. He had the option to hide behind the law and obtain an exemption, but he decided to repay each and every one of them. His principles are those. After all, he is Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s son. “Such a man,” Paresh added.
Amitabh previously discussed the era in which creditors used to knock on his door and cause problems. He claimed they made threats and demanded payment. He referred to it as one of his career’s darkest times.
Amitabh was last spotted in several films this year, such as Brahmastra, Uunchai, and Goodbye. Currently, Big B has a project like Project K in his kitty, alongside Deepika Padukone and Prabhas. However, Paresh Rawal, who was last seen in Sharmaji Namkeen, will soon appear in Aankh Micholi, Shehzada, and Hera Pheri 3.
