Mumbai: Bollywood actress Krishan Perera, who was arrested in a drug smuggling case, has been released from Sharjah jail. The Bollywood actress was arrested in a drug-smuggling case. Perera was arrested in Sharjah earlier this month. She was found hiding drugs in a trophy.
Let us tell you that 27-year-old Krishan Perera has worked in films like Sadak 2 and Batla House. The Mumbai Crime Branch had also arrested two people for implicating a Bollywood actress in a drug-smuggling case. The accused have been identified as Anthony Paul, a resident of Borivali, Mumbai and Rajesh Babhote alias Ravi, a resident of Sindhudurg district, Maharashtra.
According to the police, the two accused had allegedly hidden the drugs in Perera’s trophy which she had taken to Sharjah. On the other hand, according to a statement from the family of the actress, she was framed. Subsequently, an investigation into the case began and the police came to know that the accused Anthony Paul had planned to frame Krishan as a revenge action against the actress’s mother Premila Perera.
Paul, along with his associate Ravi, conspires to send Chrisan to the United Arab Emirates for a supposed audition for an international web series. On his way to the airport, he was handed the trophy in which he hid the drugs. Authorities also learned that Paul had similarly framed four other people.
