Actress Rashmika Mandanna reacts to person getting arrested in deepfake video case

Mumbai: After the accused was arrested in the deepfake video case, who involving her, the actress Rashmika Mandanna expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the police officials. Rashmika took to social media and expressed her gratitude to the police. This comes after Rashmika's face was imposed on a video of British influencer Zara Patel.

Mumbai: After the accused was arrested in the deepfake video case, who involving actress Rashmika Mandanna, the actress expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the police officials. Rashmika took to social media and expressed her gratitude to the police. This comes after Rashmika’s face was imposed on a video of British influencer Zara Patel.

On her Instagram post, she wrote, “Expressing my heartfelt gratitude to @dcp_ifso. Thank you for apprehending those responsible. Feeling grateful for the community that embraces me with love, support and shields me. Girls and boys- if your image is used or morphed anywhere without your consent. It is wrong! And I hope this is a reminder that you are surrounded by people who will support you and action will be taken!”.

The Delhi Police arrested Eemani Naveen (24), the alleged mastermind who is said to have created and posted deep fake videos of Mandanna on social media platforms, which drew concerns from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and noted personalities including Amitabh Bachchan. A video featuring Rashmika Mandanna was doing rounds on social media. In the video, the Pushpa actor was seen entering an elevator. For the unversed, the video initially showed Zara Patel, a British-Indian influencer, but then her face was replaced with the face of the actor using deepfake technology.

According to police, the arrested person, a resident of Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh, is a B-tech graduate from a reputed engineering college in Chennai. Meanwhile, on work front, Rashmika Mandanna was recently seen in film Animal alongside Ranbir Kapoor.

Animal movie directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film also features Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Tripti Dimri, Suresh Oberoi, Shakti Kapoor and Prem Chopra. Deputy Commissioner of Police, IFSO Unit, Hemant Tiwari said that Naveen used to run a fan page for Rashmika Mandanna and also created two more fan pages for another two noted celebrities.

In a press briefing in Delhi, DCP, IFSO Unit said, “We’ve arrested the main accused identified as Eemani Naveen, from Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur. Laptop and mobile phone recovered from him. His deleted data is also being recovered. He used to run a fan page of a famous film actress (Rashmika Mandanna) and also created two more fan pages of another two noted celebrities.”
