The festival of Eid-ul-Fitr is just around the corner. Enthusiasm among people from all walks of life can be seen. Eid follows after the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Traditional markets are packed with huge gatherings across the country.
Bollywood stars are also eagerly waiting to celebrate Eid. Actress Zareen Khan is keenly awaiting the big festival. Most people like to meet their extended family members, Zareen Khan has also revealed her plan for celebrating the festival this year.
She says, “What I look forward to every Eid is the whole khandaan coming together and celebrating. With our busy lives, it becomes difficult to catch up with friends and family otherwise, but we make sure that on Eid everyone comes together and celebrates. “
Besides this, she also remembered her childhood days. She adds, “My favourite childhood memory of Eid is getting Eidi (a collection of money from the elderly) and competing with all the cousins as to who got the highest Eidi.” Those were special times.
She prefers sheer khurma
What would be the menu for tomorrow? Biryani is a tradition in most houses. Zareen Khan further added, “I’m not a fan of biryani. My favourite foods on Eid are kebabs and mutton or chicken korma with naan. And if sheer khurma is considered food, then, of course, I prefer that over everything else, “she says, adding light-heartedly, “I don’t know how to cook, I only know how to eat!”.
We are sure that the bonhomie that will come about after meeting her loved ones will lift Zareen’s mood, as it has been a tough time for her recently, with her mother admitted to the ICU. “It’s been hard. I request everyone to send a prayer for my mother, who’s unwell, “she adds.”
Zareen Khan made her Bollywood debut in 2010 with the help of her godfather, Salman Khan. She played the role of Princess Yashodra in the epic action film Veer and later appeared in the massively popular item number Character Dheela in the 2011 blockbuster comedy Ready
