New Delhi: Cash-strapped Go First has got permission to fly once. DGCA has given permission to GoFirst to fly with conditions. DGCA has conditionally accepted Go’s proposal to fly again. The decision of the regulator has been taken after the audit. Go First may resume scheduled flights subject to availability of interim funding and approval of the flight schedule by the DGCA. Regarding this, the aviation regulator has said that it has approved Go First’s plan to resume operations with 15 aircraft and 114 daily flights, subject to certain conditions.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said in a release that the airline’s restoration plan to operate 15 aircraft and 114 daily flights has been reviewed and accepted. It added, “The approval is subject to the outcome of the writ petitions/applications pending before the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi and the Hon’ble NCLT, Delhi.”
GoFirst may resume scheduled flight operations subject to availability of interim funding and approval of scheduled flights by DGCA, the release said. Further, the regulator has directed GoFirst to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and ensure the continued airworthiness of the aircraft in operation.
The Go First airline, which has been flying for over 17 years, has been grappling with cash crunch and ceased operations on May 3. Presently the company is going through the insolvency resolution process. Talking to sources, an official said that after the audit, DGCA had sought additional information from us, which we have submitted to it. Based on our responses, the regulator sought some more information for clarity and that information has been submitted today. He said that there is nothing to worry about.
According to the information, the airline has 22 aircraft ready and four of them are in reserve. The company is waiting for permission to start them. According to him, the airline is looking to get some 15-18 aircraft initially.
There are some pilots whose recency is to be cleared in 4-5 days, he said so in next week we will have remaining aircraft. The official said that in the first week, the airline will have 130 flights and then it will be increased to 160 flights in the next week.
