Agniveer: Former Agniveers will get 10 percent reservation in CISF recruitment, relaxation in age limit announced

In the notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, it has been said that the former Agniveers of the first batch will be given a relaxation of five years in the age limit. The subsequent batch of Agniveers will be given a relaxation of three years.

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has announced 10 percent reservation for ex-firefighters in vacancies in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The ministry had taken a similar step a week ago for them in the Border Security Force (BSF).

The ministry has also announced relaxation in the upper age limit for Agniveers. It will be available on the basis of first batch or subsequent batches of Agniveers. For this, the rules made under the Central Industrial Security Force Act, 1968 have been amended. The notification states that 10 percent of the posts will be reserved for ex-servicemen.

Five years relaxation in age limit

In the notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, it has been said that the former Agniveers of the first batch will be given a relaxation of five years in the age limit. Along with this, the subsequent batch of Agniveers will be given a relaxation of three years. According to the notification, former firefighters will not have to give any physical test. That means they will also get exemption from physical test.

It is worth mentioning that on June 14 last year, the Central Government had announced the Agneepath scheme for the recruitment of youth in the age group of 17 to 21½ years in the Army, Navy and Air Force. Under this scheme, youth will be recruited on contract basis for the first four years. Under this, the soldiers who are recruited in the armies will be known as Agniveer.

10 percent vacancies in central paramilitary forces reserved for Agniveers
According to the government’s announcement, 25 percent of Agniveers from each batch will be offered regular service after completion of four years of service under the Agneepath scheme. For this, Agniveers will have to pass the test. After the announcement of the Agneepath scheme, the Ministry of Home Affairs had said that 10 per cent vacancies in central paramilitary forces and Assam Rifles would be reserved for ex-Agniveers.

Know what is the difference between first and second batch leaders

Age relaxation of five years will be given to former Agniveers of the first batch and three years to Agniveers of subsequent batches. The ministry said that former firefighters will also be exempted from the physical fitness test. Let us tell that the Central Government had announced the Agneepath scheme on June 14 last year.
