New Delhi: The Central Investigation Agency (CBI) has raided Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s brother Agrasen Gehlot on Friday. Sources have informed that CBI raids are going on at the premises of Agrasen Gehlot. A new case has been registered against Agrasen Gehlot, who is facing investigation in the fertilizer scam.
According to media reports, the action of this CBI raid is also being linked to the performance of Ashok Gehlot in Delhi for Rahul Gandhi.
The CBI team reached Agrasen Gehlot’s house on Friday morning. In this team, 5 officers are from Delhi and 5 officers are from Jodhpur.
A team of CBI has also reached his shop located in Paota. However, it is not yet clear whether this raid of CBI is being done in the fertilizer scam case or raids are being conducted related to any other case. According to media reports, Agrasen Gehlot, brother of CM Ashok Gehlot, is accused of exporting subsidized fertilizers between 2007 and 2009 during the Congress government. Agrasen Gehlot was fined Rs 60 crore by the Customs Department for exporting the Muriate of Potash, which was received on subsidy to farmers, abroad.
