AI will replace humans in IBM in next 5 years, preparing to replace 7800 jobs

New York: US tech giant IBM hopes to suspend select roles at the company and replace them with artificial intelligence in the coming years. A company is now going to develop AI jobs instead of hiring and has planned to replace a large number of jobs with AI. Soon 7,800 jobs can be replaced with AI. This company is International Business Machine Corp.

IBM CEO Arvind Krishna, suggested some back-office functions could be replaced by AI in the next five years. Krishna adds human resources could potentially be replaced by AI.

The company’s CEO Arvind Krishna said that the company is hoping to stop hiring and replace it with artificial intelligence in the coming years. Krishna said in an interview that recruitment in back office work has been reduced. Also, hiring has been stopped in some departments.

7,800 jobs will change in the next five years
According to the Bloomberg report, the CEO of the company said that these non-customer facing roles are of about 26,000 workers. He said that I am looking at 30 percent from AI and automation in a period of five years. In such a situation, it is expected that around 7,800 jobs will be lost. However, an IBM spokesperson said that there are no plans to replace any of the cuts with AI.

AI will be able to do this work
The CEO said that giving employment verification letter or transfer between employees will be completely automated. He said that some human resource tasks like assessment of workforce composition and productivity etc. will be done with AI.

IBM currently employs around 260,000 employees and is hiring for software development. Krishna said it is easier to find talent today than it was a year ago. The company announced job cuts earlier this year. Around 5,000 employees may be laid off.
