Air force officer’s wife killed, daughters injured in road accident on Mathura Expressway

The children escapes narrowly as they had moved some distance away from their car when accident happened. The three people seated in the second vehicle reportedly sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital for treatment, police said.

Meerut/Uttar Pradesh: In a horrific accident, a 40-year-old woman, wife of Delhi-based IAF (Indian Air Force) officer, died in a car accident on the Yamuna expressway on Wednesday morning. Three people were also seriously injured in the accident which took place near milestone 80 under Surir police station in Mathura district.

Preliminary investigation reports says that junior warrant officer of the IAF Devi Prasad Mishra was traveling towards Agra with his wife, Kislaya Mishra, and two children in their car. He parked the car on the roadside to pass urine. The other three also alighted from the vehicle to stretch their legs. Suddenly, a speeding car crashed into their car from behind. The collision was so severe that Kislaya was thrown 50 ft down from the expressway on the Surir-Naujheel underpass, an official added.

“The accident unfolded at around 8 am. The IAF officer and his children are fine. The body of Kislaya has been sent for autopsy. Those seated in the second vehicle were referred to Mathura district hospital after primary medical aid. So far, no complaint has been received in the matter,” said Surir Station House Officer Narendra Yadav, according to sources.

SHO further said that the woman’s body has been sent for postmortem examination, adding efforts are on to trace the speeding car’s driver.
