Air India Express flight from Calicut in Kerala diverted towards Thiruvananthapuram due to technical issues

Air India Express flight from Calicut in Kerala to Dammam in Saudi Arabia has been diverted to Thiruvananthapuram due to technical snag. The spokesperson of the airline has given this information.

Chennai: Air India Express flight from Calicut to Dammam in Saudi Arabia has been diverted to Thiruvananthapuram due to some technical reasons. There were 168 passengers on this flight. This information has been shared by the spokesperson of the airline. Further updates are yet to come.

“Air India Express flight from Calicut to Dammam in Saudi Arabia with 168 passengers onboard diverted to Thiruvananthapuram due to technical issues,” Air India Express said in its statement. A tail strike occurs when the tail or empennage of an aircraft hits the ground or any other stationary object during take-off or landing.

Earlier on February 19, an Air India Express flight from Dubai to Thiruvananthapuram (Flt no IX540) had made an emergency landing at the airport here after the flight developed a technical snag in the nose wheel of the aircraft. All 156 passengers on board the flight were safe. Later, the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had ordered to conduct an investigation into the incident.
