Air quality in Delhi continues to remain in ‘poor’ category, AQI reaches at 249

New Delhi: On Friday, According to SAFAR India, the air quality in the national capital continued to remain in the poor category with the air quality index (AQI) standing at 249. While Noida recorded an AQI of 269 (poor), Gurugram had 176 (moderate). Anand Vihar recorded the highest level of PM 2.5 i.e. 323.

Air quality in Delhi continues to remain in ‘poor’ category, AQI reaches at 249

New Delhi: On Friday, According to SAFAR India, the air quality in the national capital continued to remain in the poor category with the air quality index (AQI) standing at 249.The AQI was slightly better than the previous day when it had come down to 256.

While Noida recorded an AQI of 269 (poor), Gurugram had 176 (moderate). Anand Vihar recorded the highest level of PM 2.5 i.e. 323. Apart from this, 301 in Shadipur depot area, 289 in Jahangirpuri, 289 in Mundka, 286 in RK Puram, 281 in Bawana, Dwarka Sector Eight 280, NSIT Dwarka 278, IGI Airport 267, Rohini 266, Patparganj 249, Alipur 215 were recorded.

In the morning hours today, as per the latest data from SAFAR, the air quality around Delhi University was recorded at 307 (Very Poor) while the IIT area in New Delhi was at 273, and that in Lodhi Road was recorded at 218 either of which falls in the ‘Poor’ category Meanwhile, an anti-air pollution campaign was launched yesterday (October 26) to keep pollution under control in Delhi and neighboring areas.

In a statement,India Meteorological Department said that Delhi’s AQI forecasted predominant surface wind likely from Northwest/Northeast directions in Delhi with wind speed 04-16 kmph, resulting in mainly clear sky and mist in the morning on October 27, Friday.
