Mumbai: Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn on Saturday revealed the new release date of his much-awaited film “Maidaan,” which will now hit the silver screens on February 17, 2023.
The film is based on the golden era of Indian football, and it is associated with the true tale of Syed Abdul Rahim (Devgn), who was engaged with the Indian football team as a coach as well as manager from 1950 until his last breath in 1963. Currently, Devgn has been hitting the headlines due to his success. He recently bagged the best actor award for his role in the blockbuster film Tanhaji. This is his third National Award in the category of best actor. He unveiled the new release date of “Maidaan” on Twitter as well.
“Experience the true story of an unknown hero, Syed Abdul Rahim, who brought glory to India. #Maidaan releasing on 17th February, 2023,” the 53-year-old wrote.
The film “Maidaan” has been postponed several times amid the spread of pandemic COVID-19. Earlier, its release date was set for June this year.
Amit Ravindernath Sharma of “Badhai Ho” fame has directed the film. He is famous for his screenplay, while Saiwyn Quadras and Ritesh Shah have adored the film with their dialogue.
“Maidaan” also features Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and noted Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh
Zee Studios and Boney Kapoor are set to present the film; he serves as the producer along with Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta.
