Mumbai: One of the finest talents of Bollywood, Ajay Devgn is all set to go bald for his next mega project ‘Chanakya’ that was put on the back-burner due to outbreak of coronavirus pandemic and lockdown. As per the writer-lyricist Manoj Muntashir the film is worthy of being an Oscar-entry and is too precious to be put on the back-burner.
Spilling the beans on the shooting of the movie, Muntashir said that Ajay has only resumed filming in November and will first wrap up his prior commitments before working on ‘Chanakya’. He further added that the movie will hit the floors in the last quarter of 2021.
Helmed by Neeraj Panday, the movie is based on the life of an ancient Indian philosopher, Chanakya. As the story requires Devgn to sport a bald look, the actor won’t be able to juggle his shoot with another offering.
Talking about the research work, writer Muntashir revealed that he and Neeraj had to travel a lot across India, including Bihar, where Pataliputra (now, Patna) is situated. As per him, they were out on roads for a year-and-a-half, travelling and reading Chanakya’s books, including Kautilya, before putting pen to paper.
For the unversed, Ajay was last seen in Om Raut’s ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ along with Saif Ali Khan and Kajol in key roles. The film had done record-breaking business on Box office and had received positive reviews from the audience and the critics alike.
