Akhilesh Yadav Commemorates Mulayam Singh Yadav’s 85th Birth Anniversary, Lays Foundation for Memorial in Saifai

On the 85th birth anniversary of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, a grand celebration unfolded in the ancestral village of Saifai in Etawah. Akhilesh Yadav, the party’s national president, marked the occasion by laying the foundation for the Mulayam Singh Yadav Memorial in Saifai. The ceremony included a ‘havan’ performed by Akhilesh Yadav, along with his uncles Shivpal Yadav and Prof Ram Gopal Yadav. Dimple Yadav, Akhilesh’s wife, also paid heartfelt tributes to her father-in-law.

In an emotional address, Akhilesh emphasized that Mulayam Singh Yadav, often referred to as Netaji, dedicated his life to becoming a true son of the soil. Saifai was described as Netaji’s dream, and Akhilesh expressed gratitude for the opportunity to build a memorial in the very land from which Netaji emerged. He urged everyone to emulate Netaji, stating that following the path he paved would be the most fitting tribute.

Shivpal Yadav, the party’s general secretary, shared personal sentiments, highlighting his close relationship with Mulayam Singh Yadav. He described Netaji as not only an elder brother but also a teacher and mentor, emphasizing the paternal affection he received. Shivpal praised Netaji’s commitment to the welfare of the poor and emphasized the spirit of fighting injustice that Netaji instilled in everyone. He acknowledged the achievements of the Netaji and Akhilesh Yadav governments, particularly in healthcare, education, and infrastructure.

Former MP Dharmendra Yadav expressed confidence that Akhilesh Yadav would fulfill Netaji’s dreams, envisioning an increase in Akhilesh’s influence surpassing that of Netaji. The proposed Mulayam Singh Yadav Memorial, spanning 8.3 acres and costing around ₹80 crore, will include a park and a museum showcasing personal belongings of the socialist leader. The project, executed by a formed trust, draws inspiration from the architecture of the Abraham Lincoln Museum in the United States and King Ashoka’s period. The memorial aims to immortalize the legacy of Mulayam Singh Yadav and his contributions to the nation.
